I've just started a blog and wondered if people actually go on there to read random blogs.
Do people actually read blogs on blogger.com?
I read stuff at blogger when it is related to a special interest I am researching or keeping tabs on. For example, I will often read an insider's blog on a theme park or a band I might be going to see live. You just have to carve out your niche, keep it up to date, and create a value. Eventually people will come around if your topic interests them. (Personal stuff, about your day or whatnot, people will not usually read - I'm sorry to say)
Reply:What you need to worry about is not "if they visit and read" the blogs, but instead you need to worry about "who and from where" they are visiting from. If you have a very good blog with lots of backlinks, you will get visitors without you directly giving them a link live.
There are many different ways to promote your site and to get a good SEO. Some services like MyBlogLog promote your site for the world to see.

Unable to read friends blogs?
I cannot read the blog entries on my friends' blogs. The say they have posted, But when I get to their blog, the only entry was their very first one. The newer ones don't appear/ I can't access them through tags, the blogroll or the next or last pages. Is there anything I can do about this problem, or should I just notify yahoo?.

Blogs are so AWESOME!!! Don't let these guys tell you any different! It really depends what you are into! There are blogs specifically for parenting. . .there are blogs specifically for healthy eating. . .and there are GOSSIP BLOGS! That's my cup of tea. . .celebrity gossip! My absolute favorite is www.celebritybabylon.com I also have to check perezhilton.com at least six times a day! I will list some other blogs in my source list. You can also go to google and put in your topic that you are interested in and click on search blogs. . .it is cool. . .because usually the blogs that you are interested in will list a bunch of other ones as "friends" or on their blog roll. YET many blogs get hundreds of hits per day. One guy's blog was so good they paid him $50,000 for it (of course he has to keep on writing the good stuff each year for that money.

I believe that blogs have their place. They are like columnists in your daily paper. In the paper I read, there are 20 columnists. I read threeof them every day and love every world they write. Their blogs are what makes me boiy the paper for $300 a year.
And, of course there are those who just blabber. We all have friends who are like that, don't we, guys or gals who don't have any real knowledge but lots of opinions about everything. C'est la vive !

Is anyone bitter about blogs as much as I am?
I am not known to be a bitter person! Not at at all... But ever since blogs became a hit and everyone started to get his own blog, I began to look in retrospect at all the effort and time that it used to take to uphold and maintain a website. To make it a little interactive you had to use forms and a bit of PERL and you had to make a guestbook for visitors to sign...
Ever since the blog world popped into existance, I've had some of my own bitter resentments about how easy it is all is now for someone who knows nothing about computers to maintain a blog. I know my feelings are not in place, but does anyone share my bitterness? Or should I get over it and greet with arms wide open the age of information sharing and be glad that now the blog world has made it easier for people who have a lot of good information to share but lack computer skills to have maintained an old school website...?
Still... I feel bitter...

Blogs are a new tool, but as a concept have been around for a while. I would take comfort in the fact that people such as you paved the way for newer bloggers by carving out what a blog should be. Many bloggers today are successful not because they are computer programmers, but because they have good content. There is a big difference between a well designed blog, and a fun blog. If there's any solace, it's that people like you have made blogging accessible for the rest of us.
Reply:You're entitled to feel as bitter as any "craftsman" who sees mass produced goods enter the market, e.g. if you made fine fountain pens you might despair at the market penetration of the biro.
But you really should get over it. Don't become a "snob" because those using computers don't understand them as well as you do. You might not understand completely how your car works but you're still allowed to drive it.

I cannot do very much, and the computer keeps me occupied and busy, so at least I can feel I have done something with my time. How can i read all the Indian blogs on a daily basis?
I want to read the blogs posted by Indian bloggers frequently.
As of now, i am following a painful path of getting on to one Indian blog and then following their Blog Roll (infinitely). This is painful and can't even think of adding all these blogs to my favorites. Even adding to delicious account is not helping me.

Digg.com is another source and there are several digg style websites which often work as community style journalists. They blog several indian bloggers on several topics. One such website is desipundit.com I also did not like desipundit.com website because, quite often bloggers themselves join this site and post their own blogs. They not only make a post on their own blog site but also on desipundit. Again, they don't cover all the indian blogs.
enewss.com is a new website which covers 400+ indian blogs and brings latest blogs from indian bloggers on one page. All you have to do is, go to enewss.com and you will see all blog headlines categorized by personal blogs, entertainment blogs , sports blogs, photo blogs, audio video blogs, women blogs, economy blogs and political blogs. You can choose a category and go to that page. All the blogs are displayed (title, short description) by date. So, the most recent blog is displayed first. enewss.com doesnot choose what is best and leaves it to the reader. There is a spot for a "podcast enclosure", or maybe there is another way to put music on blogs. I have seen blogs with music so i would like to know how to do that.

Do you feel peoples Blogs might be able to develope a bond with the reader the way authors do?
Do you think if someone was creative he might be able also to try to put all sorts ideas and wordplay, Pythonesque humour, creative things he might have thought up.
It might just be possible to expand the way people think about Blogs and if there was someone that could do this and he felt he wasnt able to for some reason it would have to be considered a shame if it were true that people were missing out.

I think all you have to do is go to account settings on your profile page and make whatever changes you need to make. Also, you can make your profile private like mine is this way noone you don't know can just go looking into your buisness!!

Recently in 360 yahoo blogs you can't share feeds even if the RSS or Atom links used before what happened?
Existing atom.xml and rss feed urls used in my blogs elsewhere will not work at all, now i've deleted them to re add them and now there are no FEEDS on this blog.

Collect the feed url and open that in a feed reader like google.com/reader.... you have got all the content of your blog at a single place..
Post that content at your own pace with the same dates into your other blog ....

It will bring up a strip below your bars that says something about scripted windows...click on it.
It will bring up "temporarily allow scripted windows." Click on it. Click on the tree again.
It will bring up a window that you paste the URL for the pic in.
Then click OK.

Is there a way of hiding your blogs and extended network on myspace without having a huge white gap?
I have found a code and have hidden my blogs and extended network on my profile on myspace but it has left a huge white gap between where it was at the top of the page and my "about me".
I was wondering if there was a way of moving up my about me so there is no gaps or a different code for hiding the blogs and extended network that dosen't leave a gap.

I started blogging a few weeks ago and really liked the whole concept. But recently I discovered that some people exploit the blog format to bash people, including me.
Example: some low life blog called Heaven Nose.
I read the whole thing and it's really too rude and not even funny. I wrote to blogger.com but they said they couldn't do anything about it.
They really are too rude. I can appreciate a good joke, but the thing they said about mother Theresa is just way outta line.

so i have my blogs hidden and my friend helped me hide them and idk were she put the code so i was woundering if anyone know a code the would cancle that one out so my blogs will show up once agian.
also the status thing..how do i get that to show agian..but i want just that not the mood part..lol its a little conffusing. :] thanks for the help tho :D

Why can't I open many blogs on blogspot- including mine?? Is it happening to you too??
When I directly go to my blog address, it goes to the "Internet Explorer can't display the webpage" page. Then, I tried to go to blogger.com first to log in. I logged in successfully, but as I clicked "view blog" to go to my blog, it goes to the "can't display" page again. If I go to "manage posts", I can't view individual posts.
I went to some random blogs to check and it turns out that none opened, including the blogs of note.
Why can't I open many blogs on blogspot- including mine?? Is it happening to you too??

There are a ton of groups on both those subjects. If you looking for someplace you can ask questions and get an answer I'd suggest groups vs blogs. Blogs are more one way communication.

http://witchvox.com/ has quite a few blogs, I'm not sure I would say it's dedicated to spells though. From there I'm sure you could find what your looking for.
There are a ton of groups on both those subjects. If you looking for someplace you can ask questions and get an answer I'd suggest groups vs blogs. Blogs are more one way communication.

Recently, I encountered problems which is "the page cannot be displayed" when I visit blogs with "-" a dash or dashes in the URL. My friend encountered the problems too. But before that, we could visit those websites. Why is that so? Thanks in advance!

well i get that problem all the time its probably the Internet connection unplug the modom for 10 seconds then replug it in that should reset the settings or if that doesn't work its possibly the site is having problems

delete cookies and temp files and restart your browser
360 makes a lot of temp files and this may cause your blogs not to post
If you are going to use 360 a lot either clean temp files every day or go into settings and set your temp file cache to a low level
And dont press on "Preview" press save and then edit if you have too as preview can eat your posts

After doing a new blog,when i was pleased with what i had done,i done what you normally have to do,but when it refreshed back to my page,none of my blogs are there at all!...help!

Lately, when doing anything on Yahoo I save it to Word first just in case it gets sucked into the space/time continuum rift that seems to be plaguing all it's programs. Whatever Yahoo is doing to transition 360 I hope it does it soon.

My Space - Can someone not in my preferred blogs list view the blogs I've marked as preferred?
The majority of my myspace blogs are marked as preferred list only. My preferred list only is also very small so I know who can read them personally. However a few months ago someone emailed me to winge about my blog with a complete copy of it. They weren't a friend on my space and they weren't on my prefered list. Is there a way it could have been done?
I know there was a security loop hole with blogs utalising url's but i was told this was closed down. Any thoughts would be appriciate. Oh and if it help the person in question is an IT and internet guru so it isnt your joe bloggs

Reply:I think it would be cool if you could do that. What i recommend is, type out everything in german and then on the bottom on another paragraph, write it in english. Or you could compose a new blog, so they overlap each other.SO you would have 2 blogs composed on the same day and all anyone needs to do to view both is click on just one of your accounts instead of two. Reply:I think it would be cool if you could do that. What i recommend is, type out everything in german and then on the bottom on another paragraph, write it in english. Or you could compose a new blog, so they overlap each other.SO you would have 2 blogs composed on the same day and all anyone needs to do to view both is click on just one of your accounts instead of two. Is Yahoo's mature setting for blogs just BS?
I have my 360 blogs set to mature, yet they keep deleting my pages. What is the point of even having the mature setting if you still can't post mature material in your blogs?

The mature settings don't mean squat if a parent walks in and catches their child looking at a page of nudity and reports it. Thus I think the mature setting is just for looks and not protection at all.

have you complained to yahoo about it? If you haven't then just click onto the help option at the top of the page or on your homepage there used to be an option to contact them.. if it is still there.. they take stuff off there sometimes and don't notify us..
my only advice friend is to find a way to contact em and just keep on yelling until they listen.. I hope things get fixed for you.. I have one friend who can't get her comments and friends to show up on her page!!! be yelling about it for a month now.. get the same everyone who complains letter each time..
hope it gets fixed....

Looking for interesting blogs to read on livejournal...?
I was going through random blogs on livejournal and none that I came across peaked my interest. Either because they were filled with quizzes or not updated within the past year or longer. Is The Yahoo 360 team getting behind other blogs?
I am a loyal user of Yahoo 360, and I always will. However, It makes me sad and a little jealous to see the functions other blogs offer, such as a media player to listen to podcasts, an upload service for mp3 podcast files, and being able to embed within blogs widgets, a .flv player or .flv files (flash files). After logging into 360, click on the "My Page" link next to your "Home" link. Then, at the top under that line of links is the word "Theme: [name of whatever theme you currently have]." Click the "Change Theme" link that's directly under those words.
On the new page that comes up, there's a paragragh stating "Select a Theme - Change the look of your Yahoo! 360° page by picking a theme. Click "Apply Theme" to make the change." Directly under that click a link called "Customize Your Theme." A new "Customize Your Theme" window will pop up where you can insert .jpg pictures or files as well as customize colors.
If you HAVE WORKED with the custom theme window before:
Click the "Edit Custom Theme" link toward the top left of your "My Page."
As far as colors go, I copy and paste color codes from this site - http://www.december.com/html/spec/color.... . It's just faster that way. You can also type the word - transparent - instead of a color code, so that your background shows through. OR you can just click on the little box next to the right of the item, move the color scroll bar up and down, then click around in the color square with your mouse.
I used an image from http://www.mandolux.com for part of my wallpaper. He specializes in photography. Then, I searched on - http://images.google.com - to add some elements to the mandolux background with a photo editor like Microsoft Paint or Photoshop. Try to get a 1024 x 1200 picture to minimize tiling if you choose that option. I used the same background for the top and bottom image and ended up with one break in the page. If you want many breaks, then use a smaller image. You can reduce/enlarge the size of the an image that you have in a photo editor.

But when it comes to HEARING it (ppl speak it fast lol) and speaking it (I speak it kinda slow) its more difficult.
