Reply:We got up early and raced for the boats to Phi Phi. (Pronounced ''Pea Pea'') A lot of effort for a frankly disappointing place. It is supposed to be the prettiest place on earth, but resembled more of a tourist-ridden building site. We found bungalows by the beach and checked in. That night we went out and I felt utterly awful, so much so that after dining at a local greasy restaurant, I threw up violently on the streets of Phi Phi.
We booked a boat trip to see the beaches and islands around the island, including the one where Leonardo di Vinci filmed 'The Beach'. The movement and tickle of the sea water spray did nothing to to help my stomach and I spent most of the day in a foul mood with the potential to spew on request. Fortunately that party trick didn't materialize and by time we reached 'Monkey Beach' I was in the mood for some fun. As the name suggests, the beach is ridden with monkeys. I was taking a picture of Kerri imitating a monkey and decided it would be a a good idea to walk behind the little cretins. As I stepped round, they turned on me, baring their little monkey fangs and ready to kill. I leaped up in the air as they scraped and grabbed at my ankles. I tried to kick some of them off but received disapproving looks from a German tourist. I had a cut but I'm still alive so I guess those monkeys were rabies-free. We spent the next few hours lazing on a stunning island before our boat getting stuck on the rocks and sailing home past the sunset, to Phi Phi.
We left the next day on an over-promised, under-delivered bus to Bangkok.
