Is there a standard model for referencing blogs within a paper?

I used blogs as documentation for a paper I had to write for the university, but I haven't found a model for referencing blogs within the text.

Is there a standard model for referencing blogs within a paper?
It would depend on what format the prof would like you to reference in- like APA, MLA, etc. This website,

http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resour...

(or the whole Owl at Purdue site gives you good ideas for APA referencing- you can just type in APA formatting or referencing into google)....

anyways, go down to the electronic sources...and my best guess would be for an online blog would fall under "Online Forum or Discussion Board Posting"

So....it would look like this:

Frook, B. D. (1999, July 23). New inventions in the cyberworld of toylandia [Msg 25]. Message posted to http://groups.earthlink.com/forum/messag...
Reply:Reference it like a website. Though if I were a teacher or professor, I wouldn't want people to cite blogs.

MLA style for that is:

Author. "Title of Web Page." Title of the Site. Editor. Date and/or Version Number.

Name of Sponsoring Institution. Date of Access %26lt;URL%26gt;.
