I would like to write a series of blogs that will be automatically published for me while I am on vacation.

If you use Wordpress, it has a way to schedule a post. When you have finished writing your post, go to advanced editing mode-Look for "edit time". Select the time you wish to have it publish and then press the "publish" button. Easy as that.
